Once you've reached 20 days of approved audit experience, you can submit your audit log for verification. This is the final step before your audit log is complete.
When you submit for verification, your associated member firm will review your log to confirm that you performed the audits as recorded.
Not currently associated with a firm? If you are not linked with a member firm — for example, if you are between roles or working independently — you can nominate an external approver instead. See Nominating an External Approver below.
Submit to Your Firm
Click Submit For Verification
On your Audit Log screen, click the Submit For Verification button. This button turns blue and becomes active once you reach 20 approved days.
Select your firm
You will see a "Send For Firm Verification" screen with a dropdown menu. Select the firm you want to submit to. If you are associated with only one firm, there will be one option. If you are associated with multiple firms, select the appropriate one.
Save
Click Save.
Dashboard update
Your dashboard will update:
- Your portfolio status will change to Awaiting Firm Verification
- The firm name and submission date will be shown for your reference
- The Submit For Verification button will be grayed out
- Your log is now locked — you cannot add, edit, or delete entries while verification is in progress
What happens next? Your firm will be notified that your log is ready for review. You will receive an email from APSCA once your firm has completed their verification. There is nothing further you need to do at this stage.
See After Verification Is Complete for what to expect once your firm has finished their review.
Nominating an External Approver
If you are not currently associated with a member firm, the system will show you an external approver form instead of the firm dropdown. You will need to nominate someone at the organization or firm where you previously conducted the audits who has direct knowledge of your work.
Click Submit For Verification
On your Audit Log screen, click the Submit For Verification button.
Fill in the approver details
You will see the "Add Audit Submissions Approval Event Record Log" form. Fill in the following required fields:
| Approver's Name | The full name of the person you are nominating |
| Approver's Title | Their job title |
| Approver Email | Their email address (this is where the verification link will be sent) |
| External Organization | The name of the organization they work for |
Confirm the details
Read the confirmation statements carefully. By proceeding, you confirm that:
- The external approver has direct knowledge of your audit work
- The information provided is accurate
- You authorize APSCA to contact this person
Tick the checkbox to confirm you have reviewed the above information.
Save
Click Save.
Next Steps confirmation
A "Next Steps" screen will appear confirming your submission.
Dashboard update
Your dashboard will update:
- Your portfolio status will change to Awaiting APSCA Review
- The approver details and submission date will be shown for your reference
- Your log is now locked — you cannot add, edit, or delete entries while verification is in progress
What happens next? APSCA will review the details of your nominated approver. If accepted, your approver will receive a secure email link to review your audits. You will receive an email from APSCA once your approver has completed their verification.
If your nominated approver is not accepted by APSCA, your portfolio status will change to Rejected and you will need to nominate a different person.
See After Verification Is Complete for what to expect once your approver has finished their review.
After Verification Is Complete
You will receive an email from APSCA when your firm or external approver has completed their review. The email will include a verification summary showing how many audits were verified and how many were marked as "Unable to Verify."
If all audits are verified: Your portfolio status will change to Approved and your audit log is complete.
If some audits are marked as "Unable to Verify": Your dashboard will unlock and you will be able to add new audit entries to make up the shortfall. Once you have enough approved days again, you can resubmit for verification.
If you have questions about why an audit was not verified, contact your firm or external approver directly. If you need help, contact APSCA at dataadministrator@theapsca.org.
