(For APSCA Part I, Part II & Part III Exams)
This guide explains what to do before exam day to make sure your equipment, browser, and exam environment are ready. You must complete these steps for every APSCA exam attempt.
STEP 1: Check minimum equipment requirements
You must meet ProctorU's minimum requirements to sit an APSCA exam. In general, you will need:
- A desktop or laptop computer (tablets and phones are not allowed)
- A working webcam and microphone
- A stable internet connection
- A quiet, private room
- No remote control software or virtual machines running on your computer (your exam will be cancelled immediately if these are detected)

⚠️ Note: Corporate networks
If you are sitting your exam on a corporate network, firewalls may block access to ProctorU. Where possible, test your equipment on the same network you will use on exam day. If you experience issues, speak to your IT team in advance.
STEP 2: Install the Guardian Browser (Required)
All APSCA exams are delivered using ProctorU's Guardian Browser. You must install Guardian before exam day.

⚠️ You cannot sit your exam without Guardian installed.
Alternate Language Exams
If you are sitting an Alternate Language exam:
- You must have Google Chrome installed
- The right-click translate function only works when Google Chrome is installed and you are using the Guardian Browser
STEP 3: Test your equipment (do this more than once)
You must test your equipment before exam day. Use ProctorU's testing tools:

💡 Strongly recommended: Test your equipment more than once, including the day before your exam. Test on the same computer and network you will use on exam day.

STEP 5: Review exam preparation resources

STEP 6: Part III only — Test Microsoft Teams
Part III uses Microsoft Teams to connect you with your interviewer during the exam. This is separate from ProctorU — you must test it independently.
⚠️ ProctorU will not test your Microsoft Teams compatibility for you. You must do this yourself before exam day.
✔️ Use a supported browser: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Apple Safari (version 14 or above). Avoid Firefox and older browser versions.
